Powerful CTA’s that Make Networking Fun and Profitable
If you aren’t consistently finding leads every time you network, it could be because you don’t have a very compelling call to action.
I have facilitated hundreds of networking events, and I’ve noticed that a majority of entrepreneurs either don’t have a call to action at all when they introduce themselves, or it’s just not very compelling.
The result is that people don’t know how to take a next step with you, or they don’t feel any desire to follow up with you. That wastes your time and theirs.
What if people rushed you after your introduction to hand you their business card? What if you easily booked calls and enrolled people into a next step?
Here are the 5 key elements that create a Powerful Call to Action that makes networking fun, as well as profitable.
- I am gifting…
Yes, have a gift ready to give. A summit ticket, a workshop, an e-book, a report, a physical gift like a notebook, a consult, etc.
- Valued at….
Put a price tag on your gift. What is the value of this gift in dollars? Make sure your description supports the value.
- For the next ___ people
Put a limiter on your gift. Not everyone can get it, because not everyone at the event is your ideal client or referral partner. Do you have 3 tickets in your hand? Do you have 5 seats left at an event? Do you have one copy of your book? Do you have 3 slots in your schedule for one-on-one conversations? Decide how many gifts you are giving.
- Who take this specific action…
People need to be told exactly what to do. Should they hand you a business card? Email you? Sign up at a link you provide? Never assume they know what to do to follow up.
- Your name and business…
You want your name and your business to be the last thing they hear. This helps make it stick and will increase the likelihood they will follow up with you.
Make sure that whatever your call to action is, that it is in alignment with how you described your business and ideal client leading up to that moment. You want to call forward your ideal client before you share your call to action or it won’t matter how great of a gift you offer.

The following are examples of actual CTA’s that I have successfully given at networking events that have brought me hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales.
EXAMPLES
- I’m gifting tickets to “The Voice of Your Passions” Virtual Summit valued at $99, to the first three people who email me at [email protected].
- I have five seats left at my upcoming “Why They Buy” workshop valued at $47. I will gift them to the first people to hand me your business card. (or sign up at this link)
Here’s a gift that you can give everyone….
I’m giving away a complimentary personality report that tells you all about your communication style valued at $99. Go to www.crackmycodeonline.com to take a 90-second assessment.
Consider adding a limiter by choosing someone for a bonus gift.
I’m going to choose one person who cracks their code on this link today and gift them a set of BANKCARDS valued at $20.
Instead of giving away “Free consults” that really feel like sales calls, try a valued-added Assessment instead.
I have opened space in my schedule for exactly three Personal Communication Assessments for the month of May. These are valued at $250 each, but I’m gifting 3 to those who qualify today.
If you’d like to apply for one of these assessments, go to this link.
And the application piece here is key to finding your warm and aligned contacts.
If you qualify, you will receive…. (My example – I’m going to take your LinkedIn profile, your website and one marketing piece, run it through Artificial Intelligence, and determine who you are attracting, who you might be missing, and what the best next step might be to find more prospects in your marketing.)
They must see the value of your free Assessment or it will not be compelling.
